Pre-domesticated dogs were den animals, and in the wild they preferred to sleep in caves, or under an overhang for protection. Modern day dogs have retained a number of their ancestor's sleeping instincts.

Dogs have three main sleeping instincts: 1) they seek a protective cover for security and safety, 2) they want to lean against something for support, and 3) they like to fluff their sleeping place/mattress to the perfect shape.

Unlike other cave beds, the KONA CAVE® Cozy Cave Pet Bed has a soft yet stable structure that is specifically designed to stay upright, with no possibility of the bed rolling or flipping over, keeping your pet safe.

The canopy cave top of the KONA CAVE® Snuggle Cave Bed stands open in the front for easy entry while the back of the bed cover rests flat along the back of the bed to snuggle your pet like a blanket. The unique air opening in the rear helps regulate temperature inside of the cave and circulates fresh air at all times, keeping your pet safe.
